Eloisa Farias Obituary

Eloisa R. Farias was born in Romita, Guanajuato, Mexico on January 14, 1931.
Eloisa was born to Federico Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez. She was the fourth
eldest of 8 siblings: Jesus Rodriguez, Elena Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Federico
Rodriguez, Imelda Rodriguez, Joel Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez.
Eloisa married at a very young age of 16 to Salvador A. Farias. They had 8
children: Sylvia, Lupe, Salvador, Roger, Miguel Angel, Roberto, Eloisa and Christina.
Eloisa and her husband with seven children at the time migrated to the United States in
1961. Even though she did not know anyone or spoke the language. She went out to
look for work, she did flower arrangements, cookie packing until she worked for Armor
Meat Co for over 11 years and then retired in 1981. Eloisa was a very strong will
woman. She was raised catholic and her faith was incredible, she would pray for many
hours throughout the day, every day, without fail. She raised her children to be very
independent hard working, individuals like her and her husband. She loved having
family gatherings seeing her family having a good time laughing and getting along
would bring her great joy.
Eloisa and Salvador had 25 grandchildren, over 55 great grandchildren, and 2
great, great, grandchildren with the family continuing to grow. She loved cooking big
meals for when her family came to visit. At Christmas time she would make tamales.
She would make tamales form scratch every year, this last Christmas we had to almost
drag her away for us to mix the masa for her. The tamales came out delicious like they
do every year.
She was a very big fan San Francisco Giants. She wouldn’t miss a game, she
knew very player on the team by name and the position they played. She didn’t like it
when they grew out their long breads and hair. She liked the San Francisco 49ers, but
the Giants were her favorite. She also loved to go shopping. She would stay at one
store for hours…. She would go from rack to rack looking at every piece of clothing on
each rack and don’t let her go into the dollar tree. If she wanted to go shopping, we all
knew it was an all-day event. She loved going to IHOP for the coffee and waffles.
Her family was her pride and joy although some live far away she kept in touch
with them, by phone and in prayer. She was an honorable woman who would tell you
the what’s what. She ran a strict household because she expected the best from you.
She was always proud of her children and her family brought her great joy, and until the
end she was a God-fearing woman, who also believed that her holy mother would carry
her prayers to the Father for her. She died with Honor and integrity and will be dearly
missed by all those that loved her.
