Chet Aing

Chet Aing, 67, passed away in the early hours of September 2nd, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital,
after fiercely battling against Covid-19. The world has lost a loving and selfless father, brother,
husband, and grandfather, and son.
He was born on July 8th, 1954 in the Takeo Province of Cambodia to his late father Joe Aing,
and mother Long Sean. He is survived by his steadfast wife of 30 years, Nab Nouch. He was a
father to many children: nine sons; Chan, Thary, Jim, Cheanny, Vanthy, Vanthar, Vandy, Vanny,
and Andy; two daughters: Sophear and Tida Nauch; three stepdaughters: Sinath Chhoun,
Neeta and Narady Nauch; as well as two daughter-in-laws: Heng and Hilda “Leecie”; and one
son-in-law: Philip Pocock. He was a doting and gentle grandfather to six granddaughters:
Amelia, Elaina, Jayla, Lexi, Leah, and Jadalyn; and two grandsons: King and James. He was a
devoted brother to his younger sisters: Chouen and Yat; younger brothers: Sitha and Thong. His
passing have left a hole in everyone's hearts.
Although he is no longer with us, he lives on through his wife’s patient and kind nature, his sons’
cool and collected demeanor, his daughters’ beautiful smiles and love for sweets, the resilience
of his stepdaughters, the affections of his grandchildren, the accepting nature of his son and
daughters-in-law, the quiet strength within his brothers and sisters, and wisdom of his mother.
He was cherished, known fondly as “Ou ah John” among the local Cambodian community. Chet
Aing, although a man of few words, affected all those fortunate enough to know him in profound
ways. Even though times were sometimes tough, and the world could be cruel to him, he never
stopped being a good man. His kind heart and giving nature will forever be missed by many.
To honor him, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 12:00 PM. Please
