Deacon. James Corley Sr.

Deacon. Corley was born in Williston, South Carolina to Robert and Ann Corley.
He was a man of God, truly devoted to the service of God which he has carried out diligently at
Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church for over 45 years, he has always been a hard working man, a union
member of Local #73 for over 50 years, whose primary goals was to love and care for his family. Dea.
Corley was widowed by his lovely wife Ella Mae Corley in April of 2002, also he was proceeded in death
by four of his children Gearld Moten Sr., Tammy Moten, Annie J. Williams, Robert Corley Sr. and his only
sibling Risin Corley. Mourning his passing are his remaining Children: Gloria Nellons, Patricia Corley,
Dana Moten, Betty Dennis, Kerry Moten, Tyra Corley, and James Corley Jr., 27 grandchildren, 21 great
grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and his church family at Emmanuel.
Through the heartaches and trials of this life, he has always had unmovable faith in God and always put
first his service to the LORD, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead
also.” James 2:26 was one of his favorite scriptures. He was a truly devoted deacon to the church and to
his family. Deacon Corley Sr. will truly be missed.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
