Ruben Jackson JR. Obituary

Ruben Dwayne Jackson Jr., born April 6, 1984 in Stockton, CA laid to rest on Friday April 5, 2019 in Stockton CA. Ruben attended Commodore Stockton Skill School, Hamilton Middle School, and graduated from Edison High School. He found his first love and passion playing Pop Warner football becoming an instant sensation and one of the community’s favorite young athletes. He was a two sport athlete in High School where he dominated the football field and track earning the name Action Jackson. He moved on to attend San Francisco City College where he participated in football becoming a two-time All-American athlete as well as a two-time Junior College State Champion. While also earning an AA Degree in Criminal Justice. “…he was the definition of a City College success story.” “Ruben is still in the record books at Frisco City alongside O.J. Simpson!” Ruben was highly recruited nationally, before choosing to sign a full ride Division 1 Football scholarship to PAC 12 school Oregon State University studying political science and liberal arts. Ruben played Arena Football for the Stockton Lightening as well as travelled throughout the country to play Arena Football in Florida, Oregon, and Washington. He coached high school football at Beer Creek High School, Weston Ranch High School and his Alma Mater Edison High School assisting in their 2018 SJAA Championship win, which was not only a SWEET victory to the whole Viking Community of over the past 40 years but especially to himself. He loved to mentor young football players giving players individual skill development leaving hope and loving impressions. He had an awesome sense of humor, bravery to take on any challenge or dare, a heart full of love, and not only did he love everybody but was LOVED by everybody. Spending time with family and friends was not only near and dear to him, but was a time in which he bonded with so many of us filling our hearts with love, faith, hope, wisdom, laughter, conversation, good times, tears, loyalty, smiles, respect, memories, and again lots of LOVE. He was loved by many who he leaves to cherish his precious memories: His mother Carmen Foley and father Ruben Jackson Sr. His 8 children Jordan, Jay’dah, Annilaya (Cali), Rowan, Sanaa, Ashly (Ash), Calvin, and Tatum. His fiancée Cat Nava. His grandmothers Carolyn Jones and Martha Jackson (Cheddick). A host of many brothers and sisters whom he shared loving bonds with. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
